The hardtail JEM thread

So we're getting a lot of information on the Bad Horsie JEM, but we haven't really heard anything about the new hardtail JEM...so does anyone have any info on this guitar?

Personally, I'm more interested in the hardtail, but that's just me! :P

There isn't a hardtail being launched this year.

I want a hardtail Ibanez. I would buy a hardtail JEM, but I guess a hardtail PGM will have to do...

Does it have to be pointy? I just got one of these:

and I like it a lot. It's not in the same price class as a PGM though.

For the price they'd put on a hardtail JEM, you could probably import any of these from Ishibashi:

He mentioned in an interview that he is working on a hardtail, which for now is only for himself. Who knows what will happen in the future..

i think that there will have to be a hardtail jem eventually because the days of the dive bomb and gargle a gone now and most good guitar players such as paul gilbert go for that extra tone and ease of use that comes with the hardtail model. i got myself a pgm hardtail a few months ago and they are really nice guitars. but i did think to myself it would be the nuts if i could get one loaded with evos and a monkey grip

I have also been recently tempted by a hardtail. After playing one of those PGM301's I really liked the solid feel of a fixed bridge - but its just silly money for such a simple guitar
Instead I have a fixed bridge jem due from LGM soon...

its the 301 that i got. i know it seems like a lot of money but you are still getting all the quality build. the neck and the frets are of the highest quality and the maple used on the fingerboard is differant to the maple found on the rg550. its a lot more twangy and smooth to play on. taking the floating bridge off a guitar does not make it cheap, if so prs, fender and gibson have been mugging people for years

Well, thats true anyway, bridge has nothing to do with it. ;p

I'd be interested in a hardtail Universe, too. Just so i can have a good quality 7 that looks really cool w/ a fixed bridge..

Yeah I agree - but with the UK prices I knew I could do better than it. Im not saying they are bad guitars; they are infact GREAT guitars, but £800 is too steep for me.
