Re: The Ibanez Jem - 50K Celebration (feedback wanted)

How about offering the guitar for the original 1987 price?

And the 100th one sold you get a date with Carmen Electra?

Or 50k Cash?

Hmm Carmen or Cash?

Probably go for the cash!

An Ultra Zone guitar.

Re: The Ibanez Jem - 50K Celebration (feedback wanted)

what could possibly be a better way to celebrate the 50K mark than to

REISSUE THE ORIGINAL 777 series maple neck JEMS...the ones we all fell in love with FIRST?

and make them $2000 street price...not $5000....i know it can be done.

What's wrong wth a $5K price tag? It's a celebration, folks should be prepared to splash out

well, there have already been several EXPENSIVE Jems over the last few years.

howzabout one for the PLAYERS and not the COLLECTORS?

i've been a working pro for 30 years. and i can't afford a $5K guitar

the original JEMS were affordable. celebrate the 50K mark by making one the average player can afford. and make it a maple neck 777

the production JEMs are (relatively) affordable! I reckon that the "anniversary" models need to stand out for something other than a "bargain bucket" price!!!

Where's the shocked face emoticon, I can't believe a thread on Jemsite has been derailed in to more crying about a guitar being overpriced.

i'm not crying about it elcid.

it's a SUGGESTION.

actually, if they DID do a maple neck 777 style reissue, i'd probably do my best to scrape together enough funds to get one

Re: The Ibanez Jem - 50K Celebration (feedback wanted)

how about a Triple Neck Universe/Jem/Euphoria?
A jem 7vwh on top
Multi-Colored Swirl Universe below it
and a Euphoria off to the left as a left handed guitar, kinda like the left neck on his heart guitar.
i know it's just a dream and would likely look stupid, but we've got to commemorate all of the models here =), that is.... IF it's commemorating all VAI guitars, and not just the Jem line...

Re: The Ibanez Jem - 50K Celebration (feedback wanted)

Simple -- a reissue, perfect in every detail (including the neck cut), of the LNG, the DY and the Shocking Pink. Have it be noted as a 50th Jem somewhere on the body that is not easily duplicated, with documentation and the like. Then sell 777 of each. Have 50 randomly signed and hand-numbered by Steve Vai in a place not easily found on the guitar and have a signed picture of Steve playing each of the 50 randomly selected guitars. Make the price sane -- not Jem 555 priced, but not Jem VWH priced either - say $1950 US.
