The MYSTERY.......JEM77PMC 1990 plate?

Any one with any info or idea's on why there is 1992 PMC's with 1990 neck plates, I have seen a few. I can understand 1991 plates, perhaps getting them ready for 1992 in 91.

What year plates/serial #'s does everyone have on your PMC's?

Mine is # 904266 .

Here's the scoop on out of sequence neckplates as referenced in Jemsite's Miscellaneous Jem and Universe Notes section:

"Dating an axe from the heel plate is not 100% accurate, in that dates might not 100% match the real production date. For example many PMCs have 90-91 plates and UV77MCs are typically 90-91 even if they were made/sold later. So if you have a 1990 heel plate on a JEM77PMC you do not have a prototype or something special ;-)"

Yours is a 1992? It should be a 1990 with that serial # unless the neck plate was switched.

All PMCs (and GMCs for that matter), are either '92 or '93. They were all most likely manufactured late '91 through '92.

Interesting, The week after Namm in 1992 I ordered a PMC and it forever to get because they they didn't have them in yet. (took many months)

Perhaps they were just throwing on plates, what ever was handy, or a factory worker knocked over the boxes of plates and mixed them all up.

91-92 PMC plates I understand for a guitar that was only out in 92.

I bought the PMC on 8/22/92 at S** A**, White Plains NY, I was on a 3 month waiting list (Ordered it May 15, 1992) which I ordered it at different Guitar store, and my friend at SA, knew I was waiting for one, and they got the the first shipment in at the time, which he called me righ away, and I drove down and picked it up. The other guitar I had on order didnt come in until a month later, it was more of a darker orange and purple, swirl, which the store sold to my other friend, so it was no loss on their part and I got my deposite back.

I also have the original Ibanez catalog for the guitar too, and original receipts... man I look back over the years, I spent alot of money for all my gear. especially when I switch rigs, from marshalls to mesa boogie. Get wit the HYPE!

I go into the white plains store every once in a while when I go to White Plains for work. I live on Long Island. Any way I guess you moved to vegas. That's cool, my brother moved to Henderson about 6 years ago and I usually make it out there a couple of times a year.

I agree with Jim on your PMC being one of the best ones out there. I really like the one Marionozz azquired from RCB too.
