The "new" JEM - lets talk about it

Rich has said that there will be a new JEM soon (ish) so I thought I would start a topic that we could rumour-monger in rather than any *"confirmed" stuff that should belong on the frontpage

So come on what does anyone know - and just what *is* Rich's favourite colour ?!?!?

Affordable japanese model is the obvious goal. Nothing is final though and nothing for NAMM. If Rich wants to go on public record w/ more, I'm all ears though  ...glen

I'd like to go on record and say that when they finally release it, it's definately not going to have a green vine maple board with a Rainforest graphic.

For what's it worth from what I heard, we should name her the Viking JEM! *As in the Minnesota Viking JEM!

The "new" JEM

Well it's leaked out now so I might as well spill the beans: Wilch is talking about the new Keith Richards signature JEM - the upper horn and cutaway are gone, the Lo Pro been replaced with a string through body bridge, the middle single coil is gone and the switch has been replaced with a three way (hey! it's Keith!! he has trouble keeping track of three!) *The monkey grip remains - in fact, now there are three of them ("try for the one in the middle, man" :-) *There's a new "baseball bat" neck profile and (of course) only five strings - it ships set up from the factory tuned to an open "G". This new JEM comes in two hangover inspired swirls (projectile vommit yellow swirl and incontinent green) as well as Stone's tongue red. Sure to be a big seller.

(PS - just a little fun sir, please don't stone me :biggrin

Jim--

You forgot to mention that if you shave a little off the neck, you can smoke the shavings and get a mean buzz.

Here's hoping they come out with a "Heroin White" finish in 2002!

Hey,

I'm going to make a new guitar soon,
Need help from someone in here to give/send me a close up photo from their angle jack JEM or JS. *I want my new guitar to have a jack just like that but unfortunately as of right now I still didn't have the pics....

You can post the pics here or direct to my e-mail address
