This is what I get for sharing.... - I'm Getting Ripped Off
Everyone here knows that I drew a lot of custom Jems and such a while back. *Well, guess what has found it's way to a clock on eBay without any consent on my part...
(I know eBay links shouldn't go hear but trust me, I don't want people to buy this)
The Rip Off Clock
My Images on My Site
I've emailed the guy expressing me extreme dislike of what he's done. *Does anyone know if I can have eBay pull this ad and any like it using my stuff?

yes i think you CAN get ebay to end the auction and not let that person sell his item....tell them that he is violating your copyright
it's your work, your art, only YOU have the right to sell images of your work, UNLESS you give someone permission to do so
I'd email the person again and tell them they are violating copyright laws

Thanks Glen,
I just reported the guy to eBay and provided them with tons of evidence including my original files on my system.
I love the fact that I can share my creations with all of you here, but people like this tool really make the net suck at times.
Thanks for the forum and help Glen,
Jon

You have to fax them your VERO form, once, then you're done. This is when you officially claim to ebay that your own particular rights. They can't do anything before you fax them the form, but once you have, 1 email and they're supposed to respond quickly by closing auctions. The printout for the registration is on the ebay VERO page.

I saw those earlier too looking for Jem necks! Didn't even notice it was your artwork!! We should all post a feedback on ebay letting everyone know how this great clock artist likes to rip off other peoples artwork! It would of made to much sense to just ask you first! Duhh....................

I received an email from the seller overnight. *He has voluntarily removed the auction from eBay and stopped making the product.
At least one thing went my way yesterday
(the rest of the day was a total loss)

It looks like he pulled the images from jemsite, not your site, I didn't see the white floral on your site but I remember you posting it here. *It was one of my favorites!

Having your stuff used without consent so someone else can profit must suck really badly, but at least you got him to stop doing it, which i suppose is a good thing. By the way, those pictures on your site are cool! If you don't mind, i might "pilfer" some of the to put on my site, as finding good pictures of UV's/Jems's is a pain in the arse!

Sure thing, people can post them anywhere as far as I'm concerned as long as they're not saying they created them and making $$$ off of them etc. *I just don't like getting taken advantage of.
[Long boring story mode]
This happened to me on a much greater scale a few years ago. *I've been drawing South Park characters as wrestlers for my website for nearly 4 years. *A few years back Insane Clown Posse showed up in WCW and my visitors requested that I draw them. *I posted them on the site and got some strange emails a few months later. *Somebody in California saw my images on an official ICP T-Shirt in Spencer's Gifts. *I found the shirts and their "artists" had changed one logo on each of their baseball jerseys. *They took my artwork, edited it, and sold it worldwide on T-****s. *Talked to an attorney, not much I could do since they changed it and I hadn't officially copyrighted it or anything. *Needless to say I've never bought an ICP CD.
[/Long boring story mode]
How much does that suck?

People in this world have very lttle decency. At least acknowledge that it's someone elses idea. Bastards. But then again, the insane clown posse where possibly the worst most overhyped band around at that point. Never liked them. Like them even less now...
You got your stuff copyrighted now, right?
