Re: This real?

It looks like it could be real, but it's not a very good looking one. Once again that's just my opinion... Which is probably wrong... I'll ask my wife again..........Yup, I'm wrong.

I don't like the ones that have sooo much black on the borders.

Re: This real?

that positioning of the pattern is probably my favorite. I so want one. But i do agree with you about the burst, the less there is the better.

It must be fake. The size of the monkey grip is to large.
But this could just be my personal opinion.

Re: This real?

That looks like the real deal. The price is a bit steep if you ask me though.

Re: This real?

Looks like the real deal, but Anny FP's go for 1200 on evilbay. They are very common to find, I do not see the value.

Re: This real?

Pretty sure that is legitimate, since it's also for sale on here:

http://www.jemsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76358

Seems like a good guy to deal with - I emailed him on it.

Beautiful condition guitar but I don't see paying original FP mint collectors price for the re-issue either.

Re: This real?

I am the one who posted this ad and it is a real deal. As for the price, I have never seen a 77FP in an excellent condition going for $1200. Considering the rarity and condition of this guitar, the price is reasonable. Now it is time to settle the reissue dispute. While it is true that this guitar is not an original 1988 Jem77 FP, it'd be grossly misleading to call it a reissue. Just because the guitar was not available in the States for a ling time, it doens't mean that it never saw the light of day elsewhere. In fact, in Japan 77FPs got discontinued in 2003. Up until that time, they had been available for sale in Japan and other parts of the world. The honorary title of "15th anniversary" was a mere sales pitch that reflected the market situation in the United States. Reissue would have been more proper a title if the production of the guitar were completely discontinued worldwide. That's not the case. I believe the main reason for public reluctance to buy reissue models is poor workmanship and craftsmanship possibly resulting from many years of dormancy. The 77FP went on production from 1988 to 2003. It was during that time I purchased the guitar.

Re: This real?

What doens't sound right? I just pointed out that the guitar had long been a production model up until 2003 and that it should not be considered a reissue.

Re: This real?

So your saying that the FP was a regular production model up to 2003 just not in the US?
