I really don't give a rats ass if he is trying to get 20k for it. What irks me is he is claming it was owned by steve vai or rater s via. and he is trying to hide his tracks too.

trying to get 20K, a joke but whatever, that's his problem. Trying to pass it off as 1 of 5 prototype when he knows exactly what it is makes him a rat.

He outbid me on that one! the guitars was in really rough shape! I think it was in a barn or something! it went really cheap too! I can't believe he is asking $20k for it!!!

No one that knows any better will pay anything near that.
Especially with no documentation that says it is anything he claims it to be.

Re: Thought this little Gem was interesting...

Maybe it is just me, but isn't the fact the prototype was dated to 1990 seem rather odd. They don't generally make prototypes of guitars that are already out, after all.

Has Ibanez ever released a maple electric guitar either? Washburn and Hohner have, but I can't think of anyone else off hand.

it still is in rough shape, the body has tons of damage on it.

PMC's started in 1992, and He's getting 1990 from the neck plate, and as well all know those can be very inaccurate and/or swapped out from another guitar.

Re: Thought this little Gem was interesting...

I have had 2 PMC's with 90' plates, one of them I bought brand new from a dealer.

Rodney can address all this when he finally decides to, but he gave this guitar to a dealer who was setting up at this show to sell for him. If I was going to point fingers and cry scumbag I'd be pointing them at this dealer.

ESP's Tigers and Kamikazes are made out of maple!

That's really not too far fethced, I heard Hendrix used to Tea Bag his favorite strats.

I hope that guitar is there when the show comes to Chicago.
BS like that is what discourages me from going to Guitar shows! It's only a waste of time since there are no bargains to be had just overpriced lunacy!!!

Yeah, but I'm sure he had to provide the dealer with the info, or at least some info, because I'm sure any other dealer would just see this as another beat up PMC with a mediocre swirl, probably valued around the 3k mark.
