Re: Thought this little Gem was interesting...

That belongs to a member here, I forgot who, maybe Rodney James, funny thing is I don't think anyone really knows how many proto's were ever made and if that really is one. I love the swirl, simple and to the point..

*edit* I'm almost 100% sure thats Rodney's rescued PMC..but none of his pics are pulling up in any of the old threads, and he's also edited out a lot of his old posts, don't know why...

Is that a confirmed prototype? And if so, by who?

Absolutely not. And claiming it's "1 of 5" is pure fraud. If this was a vetted show the dealer would be thrown out and banned from returning.

I am missing something beyond that it looks like it was hand painted? And some fool doesn't know how to spell Vai?

Re: Thought this little Gem was interesting...

IIRC he had put it for sale here in the classifieds a while back, with a much, much lower price tag and it didn't sell...

Re: Thought this little Gem was interesting...

If you look close, there is a slight discoloration on the right hand side of the 12th fret. He said that Vai would always "mark" the ones he liked at the 12th fret with a cigarette. He also told me that another of the "1 of 5" was sold on **** not too long ago for $26,000.

Here is his website if you want to inquire more about it:
http://rscustomguitars.com/home

(and yes... she was there too)

You guys seem to be forgetting, wasn't this the same guy who stated a thread warning everyone not to bid on this guitar when it was on the bay so he would have less competition for it?
