Thought you all might dig this, my UV77MC project =o)

Well, this one's taking longer to do than the 911 did, but it's worth it! I've always wanted a UV77MC, and I even sold my UV777GR to get one, but then I couldn't find a swirl I liked, so I decided I'd make one instead. Well, EKG did a mahogany body for me, a ONE PIECE mahogany body! And on Sunday Darren swirled the body for me, and a lefty one for a customer of mine, (but I'll post that in his thread ) So here are pics of the freshly swirled body for you to look at Darren is definitely the man, there are some new swirlers out there, but nobody comes close to Darren!
ps. sorry about the size, I didn't have the chance to reduce them, this computer is kinda fudged up.

Wow! That is a great looking swirl! Are you going to do a traditional MC fretboard on it, or go with ebony?

I haven't totally decided yet, I have a Universe neck for it (green dot) but I may put ebony on it, not 100%. There is something I just really like about that neon against rosewood.

WOW! That is a nice swirl! Looks like one of the original swirls.

(subliminal message = rosewood)

I bet the original pyramids would look cool on ebony You could even sort of fake a rosewood look with the right piece of macassar ebony (maybe not). Again though, that's a really nice swirl job, the colors look great front and back!

Wooiee!

Great swirl! I really like pink...

What about a swirled fretboard with ebony, rosewood and maple pyramids? :P

Looks great. I don't know why you would want to fake the look of a rosewood fretboard using ebony as someone mentioned, it seems completely pointless. Great looking swirl man!

The point is, if what you like most about rosewood is the look, then you can either go strictly by look or find a denser, brighter sounding wood that looks like rosewood. You needn't necessarily sacrifice the brightness and density of ebony just because you think something else would look better. You should try to pick your guitar woods for their sound, not their look (unless the difference is marginal). To me, ebony always sounds better on a mahogany body than rosewood, and I would guess you wouldn't want to compound the lack of brightness you might expect from a mahogany 7 string body with a rosewood fretboard.

just my .02

Not a swirl lover but that looks killer. Make sure you use the right hardware and post pics when it's finished.
