I've never had to pay any charges when i take a guitar through UK customs. Never even been asked about it and i've taken a few through.

If it's looks get a Vsbl,I know you havnt listed that as an option but it has proper class, the other 2 are pretty nasty looking in my opinion.I had a vwh for a while and just couldnt get into the white and gold look

Re: torn between two jems
I'd get the Horsie if I were you. Not too many people have those I don't think. The white ones are very popular. It would be nice if they actually had some different colors to choose from. Perhaps if you want you might get one for $25.

Re: torn between two jems
whites only popular on here really, it'll still be pretty unique in the world of bedroom and local bars guitars. Look is also personal preference, we all know the 7vwh is love or hate looks wise, i got the white i love it
I suppose were all going to be biased to whatever one we have, so I guess someone who has both would be the best person to ask.

Yup, wish I never sold it now, but I do have a plan to get another with the same set up, but I have decided to get a set of pyramids installed.

is definintely a 7VWH for you. The Evolutions, while delivering the overall sound you'd want, can be unforgiving so keep your technique clean. Also, I suspect the sexy look of the guitar goes with the whole genre you described. I hang it on my wall and get comments from people all the time on it.
The BRMR is a great axe, but it has a VERY specific sound due to the Breeds which is more PAF'ish and big on mids. Far less pick attack sensitivity than the Evolutions, but a very rich and smooth sound. Before my Caparisons, the BRMR was my main recording axe. It sounds GRRREAT when recording and cuts through the mix like a hot knife through butter.
Ideally, both instruments would be a great addition to your arsenal (I have both and won't be parting with either any time soon), but considering the high cost of these instruments in the UK and the type of music you play, I'd strongly recommend the 7VWH.

Re: torn between two jems
I am in the same situation buddy and was lucky enough to test both yesterday.
I think VWH is the way to go:
- More versatile sound
- Can do any Rock style and even clean sounds are very cool
- Very nice on high gain sounds too
BRMR:
- Best high gain guitar I tried, just not as versatile
- Dislike it if playing a clean sound

Re: torn between two jems
I have the vwh and the brmr, and the vwh has become my backup, not much more - I can get a lot more versatility tone-wise from the brmr, and it feels great - both are good, though, so you can't really go wrong either way. The inlays on the brmr aren't the least bit fancy and that turns some people off, but dots vs vine doesn't affect playability so it really doesn't bother me. In addition, it's fun to use the guitar to blind the bass player as much as possible.
