Tremsetter on UV? - Any success stories

OK, I've read all the past posts and FAQs on this. *What I want to know is, has anyone actually put a tremsetter on their Universe with good results? *Did you have to drill a hole for the long rod?

I am looking for a little more tuning stability (It's always pretty close, but goes just barely out of tune sometimes) and most importantly, would the other strings really stay in tune if the high E broke?

thanks

Tremsetter on UV?

the Hipshot Tremsetter will require drilling in the tremolo cavity to install. While it would stiffen the tremolo, i don't believe it will fix the issues you have raised, especially the breaking the high-E part of it. I have not read of anyone installing one in a UV, maybe someone can post if they have.

It sounds like you need to block the bridge totally or block the bridge from floating. Probably not the perfect solution, but along with the floating trem comes these obstacles. Good luck... glen
