Tuning stability

I am considering buying a Jem, but I am a little concerned about their tuning stability. What is the general concensus on this? Do most people find that they are very stable? I know they have to be properly set-up. I am very picky about my guitars tuning stability and intonation.
Thx
Kev

Re: Tuning stability

I have held mine by nothing but the tremolo and shaken it like it was on fire and it returns to pitch every time. If it is properly set up you will have no problems at all. As far as intonation, it is as good as anything else. Have you ever used the Buzz Feiten system? I haven't but am curious, but I know Steve has had them on Jems before.

Buy one from Rich and you will never question its tuning stability, playability and intonation.

Re: Tuning stability

It's a non issue.

But you have to know how to restring and set them up, as with any floating trem guitar.

There is tons of help here and on Rich's site if you have a problem.

I'd recommend getting one from Rich, regardless.

Re: Tuning stability

Floating trems are like cars, if you dont maintain them and check the oil on a regular basis they break down. Having said that the jems come with the best floating tremolo system money can buy .

Re: Tuning stability

+1 on what everybody said. I just bought a JEM7vwh from Rich Harris and it's probably the best guitar I've ever owned. I've ****ed the shiz out of the trem and she comes back in tune everytime. The key is maintaining these guitars just like any other.

Re: Tuning stability

If you set it up right, which isn't hard to do as long as you pay attention to details, you'll get the most long lasting in-tune guitar ever. I rarely need to tune my JEM. My strat on the other hand, does need an adjustment from time to time.

I should mention tho, if you're one of those guys that need ur guitar tuning to be on that green light and only the green light on your tuner then forget about it. :P

Re: Tuning stability

I actually have yet to listen to anybody saying their jem are bad in tuning stability except for the 555 and 333 or if their trem is spoilt

Re: Tuning stability

To check the oil level, simply pull the t-bar, check, and add if necessary

redo all the above over and over and over....
