If you would rather have 6 then you should know what to do.

Re: uv or jem

A properly setup Jem or UV won't hold you back at all; they are both faster than you are (or anyone else, for that matter)

Re: uv or jem

Actually, neither is particularly fast. I once raced one back at GC, when I came back to the store 3 months later, it still hadnt moved. Meanwhile, I traveled 100s of miles.

Re: uv or jem

I have my second UV777 for sale now and not that I need to sell it, but these are the most comfortable guitars I've ever owned, let alone very handsome as well. For some reason, may be just luck, I've been able to set it up with unbelievable low action and no fret buzz whatsoever. I think only my new J-Custom has comparable setup. And the neck's thickness helps a lot in feeling comfortable soloing.

Other than the fact that a 7-stringer requires a little tad more concentration to play "clean" solos, this guitar is absolutely awesome to play.

Any good condition and well setup JEM or UV I'm sure should play great. I do appreciate the instrument having a healthy straight neck that you can setup with low action.

Gus.

He was just saying to go with your gut, there's no offense there.

Anyway, I think you'll love the UV. They setup great, and the Blaze pickups are fantastic, especially the neck pickup. If you do any kind of jazz or fusion playing you'll love that neck pickup

Re: uv or jem

I say the UV too. I have a 10th and a UV777BK and I find myself playing the UV alot more than the Jem..to me it is just more fun to play.

Re: uv or jem

To me it has to do with how good you are (theory and technical). If you are really good in those 2 areas, than a UV is for you. Utilize as much as you can. I have a lot of mastering to do, so much more to learn on a 6-string.
