UV pickguards
Has Anyone every swapped pickguards on their uv's before??
if you have, could you post a picture? i wanna sorta see what looks good and doesn't.
right now it seems that the mirror is the fittest of them all, but with scratches and whatnot, it may end up looking not so hot.
plus it may open my eyes up to something new.
Thanks,
Brandon

Re: UV pickguards
I've never tried the picture thing, but here's my UV.

I'm not sure if there's an easier way, but if you copy the link into your web browser it should work. At least it did for me.

Re: UV pickguards
I asked Roger at
Jeannie Pickguards
to make a black/white/black pickguard for me. At the time he did not have a template for the newer pickguard style so I sent him my original mirror one to make a template. He did an excellent job at a fair price in a short amount of time. I would highly recommend him and his work.
I replaced the
Blaze Pickups
with white D-Activator 7's (and a white blaze single while I was at it). I bought them at Mike's Music Shop (banjomikez). He almost always has every Dimarzio in every available color in stock. I love that guy!!!

Re: UV pickguards
I have a Black/White/Black pickguard that came with my UV777BK if anyone wants it..never tried fitting it and it still has the plastic on. Looks just like the one in RG1820Xs' picture.
I need to replace the mirror pickguard in mine if someone wants to do a trade or gimme a few $ so I can put it towards a new one.

Re: UV pickguards
Thanks RG! When I ordered it, I was hoping it would have more green in it than it does, but it's close enough to get the idea across...and it's way better than wiping fingerprints off the mirror guard!
I also did the
truss rod cover
matching.

Re: UV pickguards
awesome guys! i especially like the abalone looking guard. what do you think a white pearl would look like? i'm think though, something simple and tasteful. does anyone have a brushed aluminum guard? i think that would look killer.

Re: UV pickguards
i'm liking the PBK vibe.
what's everyone's opinion about
bobbin toppers
, and what they are exactly? i don't want to swap my pickups if i do happen to change the guard. The blazes rock. \m/

Re: UV pickguards
I just rewired my JEM77VBK with white breeds. Bobbin toppers didn't stick real well for me. I had them on the JEM to see if I liked the new color scheme and they would have worked fine (I think), but I sometimes anchor my pinky on the
bridge pickup
and I started to pull it off.

Re: UV pickguards
so they're just stickers?
eh... that seems cheap. what about a white guard with the stock
black pickups
? there's got to be more. i got pretty much the same pictures on here and at SS.org.
