UV1000C Cases - Where are they made, and by who?

I am the new owner of a 7VWH, but right now there's a huge waiting list to get the UV1000C cases. Even weirder is how they're shipped. I'm in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and I know for a fact that the Ibanez cases (including my Chromeboy case) are made here in Canada, and when they're purchased, they're re-shipped to Japan and then back again. Very strange.

Anyways, there is a major guitar case manufacturer here called Calton Cases, but they don't make any mention at all of Ibanez cases. Every "standard" guitar case I've ever seen in a guitar shop in Western Canada was a Calton Case. Is there any chance that Calton is the manufacturer of the UV1000C cases?

TKL Canada. I doubt they're shipped to Japan and back though. That makes absolutely no sence. Guitars are shipped from Japan in boxes only, stacked in cargo containers. It's possible the Chromeboy cases were shipped to Japan as the whole world got the same case on that model, but that's the only model I can say that's true for. The UV1000 has always been difficult to get in Canada. The SKB type cases are made in China, it's possible they are cased before shipping as it's cheaper to send them to Japan for dispersal with the guitars than shipping cases seperately all over the world.

Thanks for the reply, Rich.

The chromeboy cases are made here in Calgary, then sent to Japan, and the one I bought was then sent to the music store in New York, and I had it transported to the border south of Toronto, where a friend picked it up for me and shipped it back here!

So the Chromeboy case was made by Carlton?
Intersting, I wonder why the switch.

I don't know if the case was made by Calton, but there's a little tab that says "Made in Alberta, Canada", and I've never seen any cases other than Caltons or imports here.

I've never had a problem getting a UV1000C here - I just can't get one that says "Ibanez" on the side :lame: Apparently, they paint the "Ibanez" on them in the states...

I don't think they are made in Calgary, but they are in Canada, I'm not sure however if Canada is the only place they are made. *Call up Axe music in Calgary there, and talk to Jarod, he'll at least make sure they get ordered, tell him to get one for me too!!! hehe. *Axe is great, they've gotten most of my stuff for me. *BTW, I'm in Red Deer, good to see another fellow Jemsiter here.

if your good with your hands, Stewart mcDonalds sell all the bits for buiding one yourself,

they sell the exact same bits Ibanez use to manufacture theirs. you just need some crushed velvet, hard foarm and some plywood.

If you asked me, I'd prefer those SKB type cases. I think they are more durable. What do ya'll think???

I wonder if TKL could manufacture an air freshener that smells like their cases. *It seems as if all the cases they make, most notably UV1000c's and Gibson cases, smell very similar. * Mmm *Mmm Good!

BTW-Opal aksed me that if we ahve a boy one day, how about naming him "Ibanez?" *I didn't think so. Hey, at least she's supportive!
