UV777BK Pickups - Was this mentioned before?

Don't know if I saw this somewhere else on the site, but it seems to be familiar....did someone have questions as to whether or not the pups on their UV777BK were actually Blaze IIs? *Just wondering, because mine don't seem to be as hot as I feel they probably should be...and they don't have the Dimarzio stamp on the front of the pickup....just wondering!

The stock pickups are indeed Blaze IIs. *Mine didn't have the DiMarzio stamp on front, but if you look underneath, they should say DP 700 and DP 702.

I put and evo-7 and a pAF-7 in mine. *Sounds 100% better than the stock p'ups.

Yeah, they are decently TONED...they just seem a little weak....and they don't seem to want to cut very well....my best friend/roommate says my Les Paul sounds better live with my band....and THAT SHOULD NOT BE. *LOL...maybe I will get an EVO-7 for the bridge....they became my fave pup this weekend....damn they sound good

Stockers in my UV777BK sounded like ass.

Lifeless, no character.

Put a Tone Zone 7 and a PAF 7 in and it made a world of difference.

I recommend changing them.

When i bought my FRED, i thought it sounded pretty lame. But after playing with it for a couple of weeks i liked it... Thoug i dont think there is enough flow/sustain in the tone... but that may haqve to do with the distortion im using or what not...

Abe, Evo's are your favorite pick-up? Hmmm, wonder how that happened. Oh...I know, I know, should I say it? 7VWH!!! It also sounds like you're really happy with that Duncan. --rvj

Yeah, I thought about putting Duncans in the UV, but I think I would rather keep Dimarzio's in it....I am thinking Air Norton in the neck and Evo-7 in the bridge....I love Tone Zone, but I prefer the hotness of those Evolutions....hotter than the surface of the sun, lemme tell ya

Too much gain is never my problem.

I find too much just clutters things up and makes me sound sloppier then I really am. hehe.
