UV7BK or UV777GR?? - Which do you prefer and why??

The UV7BK, because in my opinion it is much better looking with the binding & inlay work. I do like the UV777GR just think the UV7BK looks better.

I would go with the uv7bk because I love the look of black with green pickups, but if you find a uv777gr in good condition for $900 or less then I would go for that.Good luck.

The UV777GR, hands down, for one reason only - the maple board. I love maple boards. This probably makes me sound like one of those mad guys with wild beards who shouts about the FBI on street corners, but if I had a UV77MC, I'd buy a UV777GR just to swap the neck over. :loco:

Given a choice between those two, I'd go with the 7GR - I love the maple board, it's somewhat rare, and I honestly think it looks better in all its day-glo weirdness than the 7BK... Of course, the 777BK is better than either of them, imho...

But definitely hands down on a UV777GR! You cannot go wrong with a maple fretboard. Although the colors maybe *intimidating* in pictures, i think it looks splendid up close.

They're both oogly imo, but the UV7BK a lot less so, it's easy to swap those sickly green pickup casings and knobs

The green inlay otoh...but it's more discrete than that clown maple board alright

Maybe sounds weird, but I'm probably not normal in my little head, but the only universe I think is uglier than the GR is any MC. My brain is not compatible with swirls...hehe

I would go with the GR, for the same reasons as the others, maple board with pyramids rule, and the fact that you can repaint it and have a monster if you don't like the green! I would actually trade my UV777BK for one without a second thought, if I didn't need it for the Priest tribute band I'm in (it looks similar to Tipton's old strat). I also like the white one for the same reasons. I have never liked the black with green dots, or the all black one. *

Hmm....

The UV7BK shouts "hey i'm a grind-angst-hardcore-$hit-metal-core-crossover guy!!!", which to me is a bad thing.

The UV777GR shouts "Hey, i'm an 80's reject thrown forward in time !!", which is less bad.

That and the maple fretboard makes the UV777GR winner in my book.

I love them both, but I have a definite emotional attachment to the UV7BK. *And I love the look. *I would have to pick it over the UV777GR, but really, the one I really love is my UV777VSK!
