UV777BK Pup Question

I decoded my brand new baby's serial number as a 2001 Y. So I don't hafta go looking at old catalogues, is it safe to say I have DiMarzio Blazes? Also, the tech that I had set it up for me was a tech that has worked for Little Stevie Vai!!! How cool is that? Anyhoo, he said the fingerboard was way dry from hanging in the store since '01. He oiled it up and it plays great! What else should I be concerned about it being in the store so long?

Thanks,
Jafo

Re: UV7BK Pup Question

Probably nothing else. Do you happen to know WHAT he oiled it up with? That's a question going round this forum right now (dry neck thread)...and since he used to be "Little Stevie Vai's" tech

Re: UV7BK Pup Question

I just talked to Randy, the Tech, he told me he only uses Dr. Duck's Axe Wax. Would someone be a kind soul and maybe post that to the OTHER dry neck post? Thanx

Re: UV7BK Pup Question

I thought this thread was based on the UV7BK but it's based on the UV777BK.

Welcome to the forum.

Re: UV7BK Pup Question

I reviewed the pics, you are right, this is all about the 777! I think I changed the thread. Now, anyone know if I'm right about the Blazes? are all 777's Blazes?

Blazes. My PWH has them too and it's a '91.

Re: UV7BK Pup Question

All (stock) UV's are blazes - what happens after they've been bought is anyone's guess.
