- middle PU poles have a different visual appearance/design
- finish on the neck feels slightly smoother on the 90
- markings on the back of the PUs don't have the "Dimarzio" stamp
- original edge on the 90 vs. Lo pro edge on the 91.

Attending to Ibanez official catalogs neck profiles changed from '90 to '91:

_ '90 catalog: neck profile was defined as a wizard, 17 mm thickness at first fret and 19 mm at 12th fret.
_ '91 catalog: it says neck profile is 20 mm thickness at first fret and 21.5 at 12th fret.

3 mm difference on the 1st fret and 2.5 on the 12th. You can check it out at Rich's site on "resources".

I do own a '90 7PWh with an edge trem and I can confirm that the '90 has a wizard profile neck but I have never played any other UV. My neck is so thin that there are only 3 mm of wood covering the truss-rod on the back of the neck and it broke longitudinal between the nut screws holes when the previous owner adjusted the truss-rod. I have had it professionally fixed. Maybe that kind of fractures made ibanez increase the neck thickness. I would like to know if that 3 mm increase between the 1st and 2nd years was true. Maybe Rich could clarify this...

Interesting, looks like tracking down a pwh with a thicker neck is probably a better idea then. Thanks for your help!
