I've seen loads of MKR's in Europe, but very few ATD's.

One of my theories is that they shipped MKR's to Europe, but almost none of the cool ATD's. I've seen a lot of ATD's (for sale) and few MKR's in the USA though.

It's no theory. But there were a few shipped into Europe, and the UK [very few], and my theory is it was to satisfy somebody with enough clout [Meinl himself, some of the Headstock reps, etc] that they could complain they wanted one like the US got. It's not like the US catalog was a secret, and the difference between the ATD and MKR catalog models was night and day.

Hi there,
here is a recent acquisition, a '91 UV7MC with I believe is a MKR swirl.
Can anyone confirm?

I like the swirl after all, and in Europe it seems hard to get ATD swirls anyways .. The price payed was 2300 euros shipping and hard case (not original) included, which is approximately $3150 USD. can anyone comment if the price is reasonable for a MKR?
