VAI concert in brussels - Chrome JEM

Went yesterday to the vai concert in brussels.
Sardinas was fantastic again.
The band that steve is touring with is fantastic.
The interaction between the musicians is many times better then last year tour.OOHHHHHH, Billy sheehan rocks .
Did you ever saw Steve with a skirt?
NO, well go and see the concert.
Didn't see the BLue JEM, but he played a chrome JEM on Bad horsie. It seems to me there was also a sustainer installed.
For the rest steve used FLO and EVO.

Photo equipment is usually not tolerated in European venues, during these kind of concerts.
The announcement just before steve hit the stage in Amsterdam was something like:
"No photo's, or steve will stop the show inmideately."
I personally don't think that is steve's atitude, but the organisation.

The chrome Jem has a Fernandes Sustainer unit.
Having heard those things live now, I'm interested. The price is allright, and I have another project going on (Flo copy, or "Flo, The Next Generation"), *So I'll be playing with one of those soon.

The show in Brussels was amazing
The interaction between the musicians were indeed very amusing.

Like Jeroenn says, no photo equipment was allowed during the show.
He only played with the jem7V guitars (FLO,EVO) Except the song with the chrome jem.

Cheers

hmm, maybe Steve didn't want any more photos of his new Jem going around? Still doesn't sound like him, though...

I suspect Steve couldn't care less if you take pics, and Rich Pike would be happy to put them on vai.com.

Here, the room between the first row and the stage is occupied by proffesional photographers, who take this oppertunity to shoot for music mags and the news. They don't like competition. What if you were to sell you pic, which by the way could be lots better that those of the 'pros'?

I don't really want to see SSV in a skirt, but I'd love to see the chrome JEM!

Cameras are banned at the Wolverhampton gig I'm going to tonight, but I'll take my digi cam and leave the flash off, hopefully they won't come out too bad and I can brighten them up in photoshop.
Worth a go.

Ok I should have about 4 or 5 pics of he chrome Jem Just need to get the film developed. Was an exellent gig tonight (wolverhampton) although I had to wait over2 hours in the freezing cold to meet Steve and Billy. Worth it though. I'll get the photos up ASAP

AFAIK, the blue was just a jem, where as the chrome Jem is detuned for Bad Horsey, and has a sustainer.
But here's some other news... Ibanez USA wil celebrate an aniversary next year (2002) (30 years, I believe). Think LTD editions.

Latest details on the chrome jem

The chrome paint job is just on the top, the rest of the guitar is black.
The neck has just had blue led lights installed into it by a guy in the UK.
Dot inlay in the neck.

Pickguard is chrome.

I will find out more tomorrow but that is what Steve's Guitar tech just told me after the first of the London shows.

best wishes

Sounds cool.
Here is a pic with the old neck.

You can't see the chrome, but you can see the neck and binding.
