Volume knob stuck AGAIN

grrr.... can anyone point me to a place where i can buy a GOOD knob and one that won't get stuck after using it.... jesus....

How did knob get stucked? You mean pot? I buy that stuff from stewMac

well, it won't turn, you can't even convince it to turn. the pot will not budge. and upon further inspection, it appears that the tech i took it to the first time it froze up (last halloween), replaced it with an identical part. no wonder it got stuck again!

Things could always be worse.

Just buy an Alpha volume pot, and be done with it. Make sure you buy the full sized pot, and not one of those mini ones.

The Alpha pot in my B.C. Rich is over 20 years old, and it works flawlessly. No crackle, no resistance, no nothing. I think that's a testament to the quality of Alpha's electronics.

oh, i thought you meant regarding how to fix it w/o replacing it.

and i would have googled it, lol. i'm not that dumb. i guess i was just kinda anxious cause i hate not being able to play my guitar.

and i think that the tech didn't even replace it, everything under the guard still looks factory, all the connections, everything. the pot looks like the original one. i think he just somehow greased it up, cause i don't think that a brand new part would do the same exact thing a previous one did just months later.

Naw, it'll have to be replaced.

Take it back and demand that he installs a new one for free, and not just grease it up.

Thankfully, a messed up pot isn't that big of a deal, and is a pretty easy fix.
