what do you think the best universe is?

Hi there! I was just wondering all of you "guyses" opinions on the universe. In other words, what universe do you think is the best and why?

I have both a UV777BK and a UV7MC, and I have to go with the UV777BK for a couple reasons...

1) it's the only UV with the all access neck joint (which makes a bigger difference on a 7-string neck than a 6-string neck)
2) love that bound fretboard

And most of all...

3) It's super classy looking! It's not gawdy or completely in-your-face looking, but it's got some great appointments... body binding, pyramid inlays, etc.

I agree with bduersch about the 777BK's ease of playability due to the aanj. I don't actually own one, but I ocasionally get to drool over my cousin Boz's.

I'm waiting to buy a Universe until Ibanez makes a purple swirlie with a maple board. :mc:

I've only played a UV777BK, which I regret selling, but it played like butter! *It is VERY classy looking, but a MC just has that dazzleness to it that I love!

Im more than happy with my UV777BK. It's THE ultimate 7 string!

Personally, I prefer all the old UV's, I have a UV7BK, UV777GR, and a UV7BK that I modded heavily. *I have to give the nod to the UV7BK, I had a 2000 UV777BK, but I hated it, AANJ is nice, but the neck profile sucked, and I hated the look.

The UV7BK, closely followed by the PWH, Love the necks and just the whole vibe. Black and green rocks!

Not too sure about the current one, it's very nice and I remember it playing quite well too, but I just don't like the chrome and all. It's too pretty for me (still like one though)

For looks the UV777PBK. Running a close second, *some* UV77MCs. (Not all look good) For tone I prefer the older UVs, including the MCs.

Note: I love my BK and MC equally. Both are supurb guitars.

This may sound weird, but I prefer the older UV's and the newer Jems. I've only played two older models, a UV7BK and my UV77MC. I've played quite a few of the newer UV777BK's and the necks feel way different to me. I prefer the feel and profile of the older necks, and also the tone of the older UV's. With Jems, I'm the complete opposite. I prefer the feel and tone of all the newer models, VWH, DBK, DNA, and 90th. --rvj

i'm the opposite... i dig old-school JEMs... but not old-school UVs. The UV777BK made the old ones "unnecessary" for me

I loved the feel of the GR's neck but ultimately couldn't convince myself to sit in with the jazzbo's on it - the 777BK has a different - but imho equally nice - neck profile, and the very classy looks do not look awkward in front of a well tailored suit

Love my `98 UV777BK to death and would be lost without it.
Not saying anything that hasn't been said before, but:

Plays like butter,
Definite eye candy,
Supurb neck (playability & looks),
Lo-pro stays in tune after some massive use/abuse.
