What is AANJ?

I know this is proabably a stupid question but what is AANJ and what does it do?

It's "all acces neck joint".

Unless I am much mistaken, It stands for:
All Access Neck Joint

Its the part of the body that screws to the neck. Used to be thicker with a metal plate, but has been changed to allow better access to the higher frets.
