What is Vai using on the head stock ?

What is Vai using to hold the picks on the head stock ? I've seen some pics of this on tour with his new band. I think it's a wonderful idea !!! Is it tape ?

i heard it was the side of those binder things that you put projects in and stuff, his tech thomas nordegg puts velcro to put it on. i think it points that out on his website on the all about evo pop up thing.

It's tape, the same stuff he puts on his neck pickup to stop the strings from catching under the pickup, just a different color.

Re: What is Vai using on the head stock ?

No, it's not tape. It does look like tape, but it isn't.

He uses those binder things. The things where you put the paper you're presenting inside of the clear cover, then slide that thing over the back, and it holds everything in place.

He uses the things you slide over the back. He tapes them to his headstock, and slides the picks inside of it. It's hard to explain, but you guys should know what I'm talkin' about. I'll see if I can find a pic.

EDIT: See that?

Oh wow... Thomas Nordegg really does find a use for velcro in EVERYTHING, doesn't he?

I actually might try that out...

just out of curiosity: what's the velcro on the back of the headstocks? and how would Thomas tune up the EP7 with that damn velcro right in the way (G, B and E tuners)?

Like I said, Steve makes them from binder thingies.

BTW, the velcro is there so that the guitars don't hurt eachother when they're touching.

Re: What is Vai using on the head stock ?

Maybe this should a standard feature on all JEMs sold as after all its integral to Vai's guitars, so why should his "signature" guitar not have his fav facilities on them?
