What size strings do you use on your JEM?

And how is your action?

I want to switch to 10s from stock 9s but I hope the action doesn't drastically increase - so I want to know what other JEM users do.

My 77FP's got the 3 highest strings from a .09 set and lower strings from a .10 set. I have it on Eb tuning. Usually I've just a .09 set like on my RG/JEM at the moment.

How do you measure action, actually? Between the string and the top of the fret or between the string and the fretboard? And which fret? 12th or 24th?

A thing to remember is that you can have lower action with 010 strings. The added tension results in a smaller vibration-curve (If that's even remotely close to being an actual word :P), which lets you lower the action further.

Oh, I use a progressive tension set, calculated out by Dee I use the Heavy .010 set! But I'm thinking about going down to the .010 set he made using a .0095 string as the high e.

I've used 9-46 for years on my locking trem guitars, but I'm moving down to 9-42s because I don't get to play as much these days, and my hands are having a hard time with thicker strings at the moment. I still use 10-52 on single coil, fixed bridge guitars.
