What's better?

What's a better guitar- a Jem555 or a PGM30? Thanks.

They're both about the same. The question is, which pickups do you prefer? The guitars have equal hardware and body woods, but the pickups is where you're going to notice the biggest difference tonally.

Personally, I'd choose the PGM, simply because the half-vine on the JEM555 *looks* cheap.

I wouldn't want to choose any of them. Save some money and buy a used guitar instead.

They're about the same except for, pickups, the shape of the neck, reverse headstock I think, and visual aesthetics. For what it's worth, I don't think the half vine looks any cheaper than the painted F holes, I always thought they looked funny, having said that, I'd kill for the blue and Pink PGM LOL

Didn't the original PGMs have the JEM profile neck? I remember playing a PGM30 and thinking the neck felt just like my old JEM777LNG... You're correct on aesthetics though, I was mainly pointing out where you'd notice them biggest difference in performance.

Given the choice, I'd take the PGM30. They even have a blue/pink one in Japan!

I'd probably buy a used RG first, heck even a new one, since I'm not that into owning signature guitars anymore.

PGM100's had a wizard neck, straight off an RG770(except for the blue w/pink logo headstock)..
