Which Jem ? Help please ladies and gentlemen

a friend of mine has said he is considering a jem. He plays mostly blues/rock, and now plays Les Pauls/SG etc.

As anyone else on this site will agree, I said if you use your whammy, like a flat neck, and play rock, then your Ibanez RG and Jems are the ones to have.

Unforitnaltey, being left handed, the 555 is the farthest I go with JEM experience, which would you recommend ?

He has a budget of around $1500 for a good used axe.

Thanks in advance.

have him get a custom one from legacy, you can go very far with that kind of money through him. otherwise i'd go with a used universe.

If you go with a custom (IE; Legacy) then at least look into some threads here and do your homework on it.

maybe one of the earlyest: paf-pros and a little bit thicker neck, I think it would be better for a blues boy

Ive had a look around the classidfied sections, and mentioned that although the 7vWH is your usual current (most popoular)jem, if he finds a good FP, BFP, LNG etc, he could stick with that a they will appreciate slightly in value being limited editions.

Thanks for your replies so far !

+1

A universe would be a very odd choice for a guy used to playing blues/rock on a Gibson!

An early FP would be a pretty cool choice ...... come to it, I wouldn't mind one myself ......
