Re: Who else would like to see a UVMC reissue?
RCB, It's hard to decide which one is better.
I think I like the other one though but it's a tough call. They are both nice. Im glad I have a PWH but I've always wanted a UV77MC. Looking at those makes me want one. Those are very nice.

Re: Who else would like to see a UVMC reissue?
Thanks!
I just wanted to share some decent pics of a japanese swirl. I also trend to favour the green one, but I dont have it with me, so I cant take good pics of that one.
Its true that there are hideous jap swirls, but there quite a number of interesting ones. Sometimes people bash them without really knowing how they look "in person".
As I said, if anyone is serius about getting an UVMC, the one that is for auction looks quite good (I personally wouldnt spend that kind of money though), but there seem to be some people eager to pay much more for a reissue.
As I said, I just dont think we need a reissue of this guitars when you can get a pretty good one, in pretty good condition, for much less than it would cost new. But thats just me.
Thanks again for the complements!

This pics were taken with a better camera with natural light today at 4pm. The difference is huge, and the colours are now more accurate (still not as bright or alive as the actual colours of the guitar though).
OK, so this is the link to the pics of the UV. 8 pics with a couple of close ups:

Something off topic: I also took some pics of the RBM custom (with the wood covers and new pups). If you never saw it, this is the link.... (its never finished, the covers need some work and thats why they are missing the screws) Before someone asks.... the woods pictured below were used on another project.

I hope you like them. This pics and the ones on the auction are among the very few that I think are actually somehow (but not completely) true to the colours of the japanese swirls. I will take better pics of the "green" one as soon as I return to argentina
That top there on your RBMC YUM....

André

Re: Who else would like to see a UVMC reissue?
Well Thanks!, since I couldnt find an RBM2 I decided to do a custom one, with features I liked best than the RBM2. The pups are Di Marzio Megadrive, Fender American Standard, Seymour
Duncan Hot Rails
. The wood you see on the top is called vavona root burl.
Back to the UVs... anyone knows something about that rumour Ive read somewhere in the forum (that Ibanez still has a bulk of early 90s japs swirls and necks stocked)? Yeah, I know I could do a search, but I was wondering if anyone has any new info....

Yes, the warehouse still has a stack of terrible MKR's, complete guitars, not parts.

Why do they was those stacked, is it because they couldn't sell them or what?

Thanks for the info!
Now Ive seen some terrible, and I mean TERRIBLE MKRs and some pretty Bad ATDs released (as a matter of fact I think ive seen in person the worst MC ever done!). So, are these even worst and they didnt pass the "QC", or may be they werent released because Steve raised and issue? Guess we ll never know....
Or may be they were just saving them for the 20th anniversary of the UV???

Re: Who else would like to see a UVMC reissue?
Looking at some of the craptastic swirls they
did
release, i dont think its a "looks" problem... they wouldnt be sitting on potential thousands of bucks either...
Maybe they are just stocked up for a final run when the time's right, or maybe its just quality issues, but then again, they wouldnt have assembled them whole if the parts were bad to begin with...
hows that for speculation?
edit: RCB posted while i was typing...
