Well, I guess Im doing your homework here....
Here it is: Everything you wished for:
ATD swirl
, fairly good condition, USA seller. Bids start at 1800USD but it has a reserve price. If you are really willing to put 4-5K in a reissue, then I guess you ll have no problem winning this auction for 2600 or less. Hope you like it!

Re: Who else would like to see a UVMC reissue?
If that happened I would take out a loan, and buy five of them before Ibanez would be able to discontinue them again. I was going to buy one back in the day, and I never did, and soon enough it was too late. I would LOVE to see a UVMC reissue!!

Re: Who else would like to see a UVMC reissue?
Well, theres one for auction right now... ATD
And there was another one (very good MKR) for auction last weak (that wasnt sold). So guys, instead of asking for a reissue and keep saying how many of them you would order, or how easily they will sold out, I suggest you start backing up your speach with some bids.
For the record, I have nothing to do with any of the auctions I mentioned. The point I want to make is that there is no market for a reissue, specially when a reissue would probably have a list price above 4K for a MIJ swirl and 5K or more if they had to send them to ATD to paint them...

Re: Who else would like to see a UVMC reissue?
I didn't read through the whole thread but I'm with the guys who want to see the PWH reissued. That or a completely fresh new one that was absolutely mind blowing. Guitars like the FP and the VWH (to each his own I guess) completely took my breath away when I first saw them, and that's definately what they need to spruce up the market. Something that just looks incredibly cool. I know they've already done just about everything, neon, swirl, texture, fabric...but they don't need to reinvent a finish just to make it look good. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing a nice flame or quilt top on a UV, but yeah, something besides just BLACK!

You have the same tastes as I do, I just realised. I'd like to see a new UV period.

So just because you won't be able to afford one you don't think they should reissue the UVMC ? That's pretty stupid. FYI the world doesn't revolve around you so get over it. I can't afford a Ferrari either, that doesn't mean they should stop making them.

Re: Who else would like to see a UVMC reissue?
In my point of view, too, it would be so great to see reissues of UVMCs. As an addition, personally i would like to see some excellent and ,now,un-produced
ibanez models
like Jem77bfp, jem77pmc,RG770dxvm...

Re: Who else would like to see a UVMC reissue?
Guys, what are you talking about?! Have you actually read the whole post?
There were 2 auctions for UVMC in the last 10 days. One of them was asking a 2300 for a very nice MKR swirl in excellent condition, and the other one is an ATD in fairly good condition and the guy is asking a starting bid of 1800 (though it has a a reserve price). The first one went unsold, and so far there havent been any bids on the ATD.
Why keep asking for a resissue of 4 or 5K when no one is willing to spend half of that on the real original thing?
Sure, we all would love to see 5 UV models (a swirl, one with a figured top, a neck through, the current one and some other one), 10 different jems, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc. But how many of you are really going to spend the money on them.
Its easy to ask Ibanez to do a reissue, but unless you are expecting a reissue of 100 guitars at 5K each with some conmemorative features, that collectors may buy in order to have a New Dead Mint untouched anniversary model, then you are out of your mind.
Ibanez is not going to make a reissue of the UVMC as a regular
production model
(or a reissue of 300-500 guitars) when there are used ones in excellent condition that go unsold, or when it takes a delaer a couple of months (or several months) to sell the only one he has available.
There are simply not enough REAL buyers.
To have interest in a model means being willing to pay for it, and not just think how cool it would be to try it out in your local store. This is unless you expect Ibanez to completely change their pricing policy, and hope for a UVMC at a 2,5K list price..... now that is just wishfull thinking.
Just my 2 cents

Woooaaaahhhh there Gtr-man. Chill out a bit. My post was mean't to be on the right side of humurous. Obviously you didn't take it that way.
You've obviously had your knickers in such a twist you never bothered to read my next reply....which, FYI, was mean't to be slightly more serious -
"I agree with a few points already made, that a UVMC re-issue would be a waste, what with the state of the 7-string market.....and we don't need another swirl so close to the DNA`s.
Something a little different would be nice...."
And further to the above, I sort of feel that a UVMC re-issue would mean that it would loose some of its appeal to me. It wouldn't be quite so exclusive anymore.

Re: Who else would like to see a UVMC reissue?
You know, I am COMPLETELY behind reissuing the RG770 line...all of them are gorgeous. Especially because there was a red one. Anyone noticed the lack of red in the Ibz line? Every other company has them, but not Ibanez. Think about it...a Devil Red Jem, you could even call it that, say it's a relic from the
Fire Garden
cover or something...lol. As far as UVs go though, I still want to see something new, I have a 77BK back at home and I love her very much, but she's very plain. I know that these days not many popular bands have the skill to play a 7 string beyond the heavy end, but it doesn't mean that they have to be limited to just black. Personally the only new line Ibanez 7 string I'd buy right now would be a 1527 when it was still cosmo blue because it looked really cool. Black is cool sometimes but I think it shows lack of taste. Anyway...

The reason is simple, a lot of poeple don't trust spending that kind of cash on evilbay... also myself.... if they were reissued, I could get one NEW understand that word ? NEW, is what I want , not molested and abused by some retard who don't know how to treat a guitar then sold on evilbay to support their crack habit. ALSO if I could get one NEW through the online companies I buy from ,I could get it on a payment plan so that it would be more affordable for me. Just my 2 cents
