Re: Who else would like to see a UVMC reissue?
What makes you think the gutar is abused or for that matter that the seller is retarded, or has a crack habit? You seem to need and anger managment treatment
It may well be "as new". The majority of the UVMC Ive seen are in pretty good shape, and some of the evilbay sellers have good reputations and give the chance to pay through paypal. Finally If you want payments, you can get a loan.
You want a trusted source? you can buy from Rich (he had quite a few UVMCs in the last few years, most of them in very good-excellent shape.... even though their previus owners were probably retarded and/or crack abusers...). You will pay a dealers price, just as you would if it was new, but you are certain about the quality of the product and the reputation of the seller. At the moment he may be out of them, but he regularly has them.
Another example you may find pretty odd.... Im not retarded and I dont do drugs!
May be thats why both my UVMC are in great shape.... wait, that also means that their previus owners werent retarder nor crack abusers. I guess I just was very lucky.....
The one that was for auction last week seemed to be in great shape (another case of a non retarded owner?), and the one that is for auction now seems to be in good condition overall (may be he is a crack abuser, but not retarded). If you were really interested you could ask for more/better picks, close ups, etc, etc, etc.
Beware though, if I were you I would keep away from UVMCs, they can lead you into heavy drug abuse, or make you mentally challenged.... or even worse, both things!

Re: Who else would like to see a UVMC reissue?
RCB, did your UVMCs come from Rich? I was looking in the gallery and I thought I stumbled across yours. Maybe not.
Anyhow, there is one in his gallery (ATD) that is my absolute favorite still to this day.
This one-

Now that is very nice MC. I wish it was still available.

Re: Who else would like to see a UVMC reissue?
No, I bought both of them in Argentina, and if I ever buy another one, it will probably be the same way. Out of the 5 Ive seen in person, the best one still eludes me
It was for sale last year for 1800, but at the moment I was really into making custom projects, so I had no spare money (also I was in Mexico and couldnt check the guitar in person. and even though I did that exact thing with another one I bought because it was an extremely good deal and my friend was available to check it out for me at the time, this one was more expensive and at the time there was also a PMC at 1500). Both would ve been good catches, but Iwas already spending too much money on guitars.
This are my favs of Richs site (I like them more chaotic):

When I see a
beautiful guitar
like a UVMC, and it has a bunch of paint chips in it, I feel it was abused, or mistreated and the owner unworthy of such a fine instrument. You'd have to be an idiot or a complete retard to let something like that happen, or extremely unlucky.
It may well be "as new". The majority of the UVMC Ive seen are in pretty good shape, and some of the evilbay sellers have good reputations and give the chance to pay through paypal. Finally If you want payments, you can get a loan.
Your reading comprehension needs work, I didn't say I wanted "as new"... I said "NEW".....there is a difference. AND I DON"T trust that much $ through evilbay...regardless of if you think they are trustworthy. Plus I don't need another loan. I get my payment plans using the credit I already have. i.e. 5 payments for 5 months and it's paid off using a credit card I already have. Evilbay and paypal don't let me do that. Also I DID say NEW, not like NEW ! I hope we're clear on that finally.
I do trust Rich, but he doesn't have anny NEW UVMC's and the last one(used) he had had 4 chips and various other blemishes that make it NOT NEW. Plus Rich is unable to let me do the payment plans. That is unfortunate for me, because I'd love to buy from Rich. This is why I want them to reissue, so that I can get a NEW one using the 5 month payment plan I get through american musical.
Another example you may find pretty odd.... Im not retarded and I dont do drugs!
May be thats why both my UVMC are in great shape.... wait, that also means that their previus owners werent retarder nor crack abusers. I guess I just was very lucky.....
I don't find it odd that your MC's are in great shape and you're not retarded and I applaud you for being a good UVMC owner. Yes I do think you are very lucky, especially since you have 2 of them. I do envy you.
The one that was for auction last week seemed to be in great shape (another case of a non retarded owner?), and the one that is for auction now seems to be in good condition overall (may be he is a crack abuser, but not retarded). If you were really interested you could ask for more/better picks, close ups, etc, etc, etc.
I've already discussed my feeling about spending that kind of scratch through evilbay.
Beware though, if I were you I would keep away from UVMCs, they can lead you into heavy drug abuse, or make you mentally challenged.... or even worse, both things!
Why would they lead to that ? To me a UVMC would lead to feelings of euphoria. You don;t need drugs if you own a UVMC.

Well, you mixed up my post and your replys.... no big deal. Rich had a lot of UVMCs, the last one wasnt in excellent condition, but some other he had were in excellent condition. Yeah, I know you would still have a problem because you want to buy it in payments.
I dont know you, so this is statement is not personal, but my bet is that most of the people asking for a reissue would be among the first in line to complain about
:
1) If they are a full reissue of MKRs with a list price of $4000-4200, everybody will be complaining because they are not ATDs or because 4000-4200 is too much for a regular production guitar.
2) If they are ATDs with a list price of 5500-6000, everybody will say Ibanez is just insane to ask those prices.... and that the last thing needed is another collector guitar at rip off prices.
Finally, Mint is Mint. A guitar that is almost as new may very well be even better than a new one. If you go to a local store you may find "new" guitars that are in worst shape that used guitars in
near mint condition
. When I bought my JPM4 there were 2 of them left. One had a couple of dings and details so I bought the other one. I took that guitar with me to Mexico sold it a year and a half later (to a guy in Chiapas, very far from Mexico City) as perfect as I bought it, and then I bought it back to sell it to marianozz, so it went back to argentina. That guitar went through 2 owners, 3 years of use, 25000km of shipping and it still was in excellent (almost perfect) shape. It still was better than the "new" one left in the importer. This is just an example.

Re: Who else would like to see a UVMC reissue?
RCB, we think alike. I bought my PWH off Rich out of desperation of finally finding one but I wanted MINT. I have to admit that it isn't perfect but it is still mint with a few minor imperfections. I still think it's alot better than the ones I've been seeing thus far around on e bay, etc. Pics-
http://www.flothrukeyz.homestead.com/UV7PWH.html
The neck on my PWH is dead mint. The body has one small ding on the front and 2 small on the back...That's it!
The pickguard has 2 small holes where a midi pickup was installed. Which drives me nuts the most.
I love my PWH though and Im very thankful for Rich to sell me one. He is also into Mint guitars.
I still want another absolutely perfect PWH which my search is still on for one. So I can have 2. Like you have 2 MCs.
