Will Jem 7V neck fit Jem 555 body?

I have an old 555 that I was going to upgrade for a fall project. I know I know, nobody likes the 555. But the body and pickups are too good not to use. I'm modifying the bridge area, but am wondering can I use another neck on this body? I found the AANJ is a little different from its big brother, but no details. Will another neck from another Jem fit it? I was going to perhaps get one from one of the vendors on this site. Any info would be appreciated.

Why not? There is nothing wrong with the body or electronics. Like I said, I'll be modifying the bridge. I like the process of building, much more fun to customize than buy something off the shelf.

As always, I enjoy the constructive assistance here. $3-$400 isn't much for a neck. Sometimes less.

I got one. Mint condition. I paid 250€ ($370) and gave away a Dimarzio Evolution pup. The neck had black tuners/lockers, too. Sold them away for I put the chrome ones in there.

Was the lucky moment of my life to get such a perfect neck in such a perfect condition for such a cheap price. Here in Finland one would cost about 500-550€ ($750-800) as new.

They are definatly once in a lifetime finds, I got my unused BFP neck for only $350..

ofcourse you can have a bargain.but normally the neck cost you more than a 555.and every jemsiter see a 555 with a expensive neck.so for a project its okey.but for a good guitar it is very strainge.like a old fiat panda with a ferrari engine.but that could be fun too!

Wouldn't count on that actually.

I've my 7VHW neck set on a RG470 body with Lo-Pro Edge. And it plays really well. The only disappointment so far are my pups. I got the cheapest ones I could find. Will be upgrading them to some higher-end ones. Then it will surely be a killer guitar.

i have a 550 with a jem neck too.but with original jem pickguard,that sounds and plays very well.but its a substitute.but go ahead.and have fun.

ad astra.dont you want a real jem body with good trem and good pickups?

Does having a jem pickguard make it better than with some other pickguard?

Don't care much about the body as long it's an RG/Jem shape. I guess Lo-Pro Edge's quite a good trem? And I guess I said there that I will upgrade to better pups, didn't I?

I have a Jem already. I want also a guitar that doesn't look like one that everyone has.

To answer your question yes, I was considering swaping my jem neck with a wizard 1 neck earlier on this year, while waiting for a wizard 1 neck to be made with vine, ended up just leaveing the jem neck on.

ad...coool guitars you have.and about the pickguard i forgot to say it is a complete jem pickguard with pots switch and dimarzio's.and with a (lopro)edge bridge you cant go wrong.
but now he have to buy a good trem(no trs ll)a jem neck,dimarzio;s i think thats a few hundred dollar.if thats the 555 worth?i dont know.but if you can find it cheap go for it.i like it when people customize their guitars nice to see.that guy from UK have also a rg/jem guitar.very nice one.
