Would this work (Neck Conversion)

I saw this photo:

I had given that some thought with the 550/570 neck I have to use it with my CWG swirl. I was afraid that the intonation would be off and never gave it much more thought. Now that I see this photo, I wonder ... would this work and still keep the intonation correct? if so, I can stop looking for a neck and focus on a trem.

There's no real reason why it wouldn't "work", but I'm not convinced it would be worth the effort to get it right.

Well I don't think you should be worried about it.

Intonation is a matter of "bridge posiotion" (ie saddles) so, unless the converted neck has a big difference compared to the original one (a fret off-axis of cms...), you just need to check your intonation like you'd always do when unscrewin the neck

Currently I just cant afford a new neck for it and since this neck was included in a trade, if I screw it up, it cost me nothing. if it works, it saves me $$$ and since I can't get an answer from Chris Wood's people (sent two emails, no response), I have to use what I got ... unless someone here needs a 570 neck, I'm stuck with it ...

I don't see why it shouldn't, it worked for Steve.

Re: Would this work (Neck Conversion)

The problem is the heel. The AANJ neck has the heel that ends at the last fret. The older non-AANJ heel ends before the 22nd fret so intonation will be out the window.
