find a used rg3120. $600-800 in the used range depending on condition and desirable mods. you can typically score an rgt3120/3020 for around $1000-1200 used. don't limit yourself to a new axe. especially if your going to turn around and mod it...on a budget.

Great! I would love to see it when it's done!

I'm personally saving up atm to buy a 2550...

I have a little question about it:

Does the sound clear up when you roll the volume down, just like on a jem?
I think it does, but i was looking at some wiring diagrams and the wiring is not the same for both guitars (correct me if wrong)...

Thanks

$1200 can get you a nice used 7DBK.
And if you like fixed bridges, you can get a new PGM301.

will post pics in 3 to 4 weeks when its back, wont look much like a prestige rg when its back thats for sure

sound clears up yes ,still a little wild with the breed tone zone combination, hey i love the rg had a 550 with a maple neck years ago and that was cool and i really play my rg more than my jem and any others now.

Not in holland you can... not so long ago a guy was selling his dbk for about €1500 thats about $1800... used 555's are going from about $1000.
The problem is, people are actually buying them for those prices...

and a new pgm is going for (cheapest i've seen it here) about $1400

So prices over here suck

In my opinion, you should buy a used 550/1550, and spend the left over money on a professional set up, new pickups, maybe a few stompboxes and save the rest for a new amp. But that's just my $0.02.

Put a ToneZone in the bridge and an AirNorton in the neck, don't know about the center p/up.

If you're going to go with an RG2550 then I'd go with a Tone Zone/Blue Velvet/Air Norton combo as well. Of course, if you're looking for a prestige fixed bridge then you have just enough money to buy you one of the new RGAs (get the RGA121 and save a few bucks or go broke with an RGA321). Personally, I'd go with the RGA121 and change the pickups to a Tone Zone/Air Norton combo.
