Well, a car would be nice actually but it is more expensive with registration, insurance and of course gas, etc, but if you want a guitar I'd say the 1527 hands down because it is a 7-string.

Re: 1570 or 1527

if you're debating buying a guitar or a car, then you're probably talking about a fairly rank automobile, and certainly not the kind that entices women into the backseat.

you'd do better impressing them with some fancy guitar work and then making use of their backseat.

Re: 1570 or 1527

Example One:
Buy a car, 5 years down the line it's worth jack schmit.

Example Two:
Buy a good amp. 5 years down the line it's worth pretty much the same.

Buy a piece of junk that'll get you from A to B, and then spend the rest on gear

I'd go for the 1570 since i'm not too fond of 7-strings anymore (i do own one and it sounded crap in a rehersal - pickups or something). Plus 6-strings are easier to learn on etc.

Do you need a car? Would you really like a car which you can buy with the same amount of money as an RG?

Do you really need another RG 6/7?

Can you afford the extra insurance?

You're in a similar(ish) position to me; at the moment i've got all of my money on a top of the range workstation keyboard (my first one) which I know I should buy as I should learn to play keys, and I want to use it for composition (i'm also starting a Uni Degree next year), i'm buying it next week. This is what I should buy in my head.

But i'm also considering buying a Peavey cab for my JSX and a large selection of stomp boxes that i've been GASsing over for ages. I'd be awesome to have the cab and pedals, but in the long run I bet i'd wished I'd bought the Keyboard .

Get the car that way when you have enough money for a guitar you can go and get it yourself instead of having your mommy and daddy take you.

Re: 1570 or 1527

No, get the car. Seriously.

Without a car you'll have a nice guitar but you won't have any means to go and get a job - unless you want to bike everywhere - and without a job you won't have the money to buy a nice amp. Unless you want mommy and daddy to drop $1000 - $2000 for one and be called the little spoiled kid by the friends who are telling you to get the guitar.
