Re: 2008 NAMM Report

RS is not WRS. RS is the same Red Spinel as the 8470's.

I saw a Y2k over here in a display case together with a DNA, wow, stunning, that's when knew i need to get some kind of GB at some point...but it probably won´t be a 30th or Y2K masquerade, and only after I get that DNA.

or is the wet rose color renamed for USA?
We had a similar discussion in the is the RGT discontinued? thread

In 2008 Fujigen will produce

RGT320Z RBB Regal Brown Burst
RGT320Z WRS Wet Rose
RGT320Z RS Red Spinel
RGT220Z NTF Natural Flat

All are EdgeZero equipped, hence the designation Z

USA will only get Red Spinel, ROW is everything but RS.
But ROW may get the Jcustom Red Spinel, also EdgeZero

Re: 2008 NAMM Report

Rich,
You should ask Ibanez to subsidize part of your web hosting costs! Your NAMM report is way better than any Ibanez web site out there and should certainly be addtl' driving sales down Ibanez's alley. I have no doubts in my mind HUSA knows that (may be they're giving you a little better deal on their guitars in exchange... )

The MSQ's had a binding problem at the neck heel where the binding delaminated, and they must have tried spraying nitro or something "different" on them because they were all orange peeled badly.

Re: 2008 NAMM Report

Yes, thanks Rich. Good report, as always.

I like how they decided to make locking studs optional -- this was always the answer, and I will never understand why it wasn't done before. As for the guitars, being mainly a MIJ RG man I'm not exactly impressed with what I see (basswood, HSH, non-matched heads, heavy metal inlays... yawn), but the Edge Zero is definitely something I'd like to try. RS is a nice finish too. But what's with that price hike on the RGT320!!?

Once again, CHEERS for a great report.

Re: 2008 NAMM Report

I've never had an immediate, smoldering desire for a guitar after a NAMM show but I do this year.

So, when are these models available, particularly the SV5470AHNG? That guitar is perfect for me.

Ibanez really stepped it up this year. Beautiful line.

Want. Want. Want!

I like the honey gold and they can't screw up the ash top the way they can a flame. February is first availability.
