Re: 2008 Prestiges with Edge-Zero

I like what I see but will wait for the kinks to be worked out and to read the reviews of those who just can't wait.

The pop in bar can be added by having someone make you one for about $30. You could also replace it with an OFR arm for about $15-20. Or you could replace it with a lo-pro trem arm holder.

The intonation tool is way longer than the gap.

I think [that they think] they've found their way around having to license the Lo Pro design by using the ZR saddles on a modified base. Proof will be if there's any "license by" line on it, and they don't get sued.

It's on Prestige only. Sigs still retain the EP.

I see absolutely nothing to be excited about. This new trem looks disgustingly ugly in my opinion. I'm so glad I bought an RGT320Q before Ibanez started to hit the crapper. It's been starting for a few years and it's finally happening.

I like the 100th. Based on the presence of Edge 3; it would be cool if they made it inexpensive and sold a bunch of them. The "People's 100th!"
Ok...I doubt that will happen....lol!

Re: 2008 Prestiges with Edge-Zero

They look to have shortened the intonation tool after looking at the ZR2 pics. Still a poor design [IMO] if they have to leave a huge gap to use it.

Yea, let's all pass judgement on something nobody has had a chance to play or test yet.

Those RG have to be damn'cool because their price increase is close to 25%!

79000 yens for a 2007 2550 and 101000 yen for a 2008 model (ikebe site).

My thoughts exactly. I base a lot of how I take to something on how it looks.

It's like the old saying, if it looks right, it IS right.

This doesn't look right, so it'll have to be bloomin' amazing to make me take to it. I hate the collar bar, and I hate the look of the saddles at the rear of the trem, I'd rather pay more for an Edge trem and let Ibanez charge more for the guitar accordingly.

Probably (unless the 100th Anniversary JEM is gorgeous) another year of no new, new guitars

There's enough information available currently to pass judgement.

there is enough info to pass judgement on how it looks, not how it performs. any attempt to do so would be guesswork no?

Or extrapolation from experience with units with similar components or design.

I personally can't wait. I'm trying (and hopefully liking and buying) the white model as soon as it hits shelves!
