Well, that would be cool, but I'm fairly certain that the second hole is for the intonation tool to sit in. If you look closely, the pictures that feature what looks to be a "D-Tuna" looking thing sticking from the bottom of the bridge also have a hole on the left side of the trem rather than the 'knob' that is in others.

Re: 2008 Prestiges with Edge-Zero

Interesting... a white RG2550. Looks nice IMO, although I'm sure we'd all prefer matching-colour headstocks. Edge-Zero is an interesting addition, that was unexpected from my point of view. Wonder how it will compare to the Edge-Pro 2 on my two-year-old 2550...

Good to finally see a 24-fret neck on the S-series. Will be interesting to see whether Ibanez updates any of the other RG/S models in the Prestige range.

I'll go with Rich however, I'll wait to pass judgement until I get my hands on one to try it. First impressions though are good.

Re: 2008 Prestiges with Edge-Zero

I really like the S5470. The fact that it has 24 frets is already awsome. The ZP-2 Trem looks okay. There not much of a difference from the ZP1 and ZP2 except for the trem arm. Those pickups look really cool - I can't wai to try it out.

The only thing I don't like about the guitar are it's colour choices. If they made it like S470 with a quilted maple top and Red Sunburt style colour I'd buy it for sure. I guess I'll either have to wait and see if more colours come out or I'll have to repaint it.

It should look nice having the bar actually match the trem on these EZ's.

Re: 2008 Prestiges with Edge-Zero

Apparently some of you are still missing this point: The EZ DOES have a pop-in arm - it just has a torque adjustment.

Re: 2008 Prestiges with Edge-Zero

I'm seeing some of these new Prestiges avaiable for shipping thu some online dealers. Hopefully we'll start seeing some of them in members hands before long and hear more about the new trems and new models. It does seem like some won't be avaiable until almost time for summer NAMM, but we should have enough to keep us occupied until then

However, I'm not interested in those so much. I think the ball bearing hinge things were the best thing about the ZR.

This, however, looks AWESOME.

Hope it comes out in the USA
Will that have the AANJ?

Re: 2008 Prestiges with Edge-Zero

why wouldnt it have aanj?

anyway, why is the S series GAPLESS, and RG Series have a route for intonation tool? that's bull****, its the same saddle system, the S would need the same gap if it was left for that reason.
i say someone was lazy and forgot to reroute the trem cavity

Rich talked about this before.

I think they are using up all of the EP routed bodies they have instock and "might" shorten the route when they start kicking out new bodies. Just a guess on my part though. Time will tell.
