Re: 2008 Prestiges with Edge-Zero

The rout is EZ specific, they're not using up anything.

Re: 2008 Prestiges with Edge-Zero

yeah, because the back of the body has a different routing too.
i ask why no gap on the S series? ZR has the same saddle system as the EZ... if intonation tool works on S (the arch at the back of the trem is NOT that big to compensate for the intonation tool) why such a gap on the RG's

huh, i just noticed , the "wings" of the trem have the same gap.
i think its been made like this in favour of Edge Pro, the things is hotswappable (probably) with this routing, and it wouldnt be if it was bigger.
think about it, EZ is made in China and from cheaper alloy, many of potential buyers will change back to EP (i guess).

Just a thought since they seem to have done things like that before (ie; 77VBK is a parts guitar from the BRMR and a 7VWH, at least the start of the run). Of course, I am only speculating

Any dates on when RG3520's will be hitting the streets in the US? I haven't seen any online yet thru any of the big online stors yet.

anyway, why is the S series GAPLESS, and RG Series have a route for intonation tool? that's bull****, its the same saddle system, the S would need the same gap if it was left for that reason.
i say someone was lazy and forgot to reroute the trem cavity
That gap was always that large on the S-series.... they just left the same route. Look at the older prestige S-series... they all have the same gap.

The 3520's are in the US. I haven't grabbed one just yet.

@tmcarr: gap is not the same

i still say that the gap is left so the tremolo is hotswappable with edge. only logical explanation i can think of. look at the trem wings

Re: 2008 Prestiges with Edge-Zero

The EDGE will NOT fit in the EZ rout, much less, is anybody taking into consideration the ZPS system is only going to work with the trem it's with?!

The reason the gap is there has been answered, no matter how stupid the answer is.

You're right, that is a stupid answer for the "extra route". Whether it is the "right" answer or not, it came from the horses mouth so it is all we have to go on for now.

I don't care one way or the other as long as the trem itself it feels and functions properly. It's just one more thing for people to b!tch about It's big enough to hide a midget or your stash so it should be a good thing

Will an Edge Pro by any chance fit into the route?

From other responses I've read the simple answer I believe is NO, but Rich might chime in with the "official" word on that before long

There is no "wing gap".

You guys will be the ones to figure out what swaps into what.

The new EZ looks very crappy machine work compare to the original ZR trem. I'm sure if they use a crap type metal than definitely the screw thread will strip in no time.

Re: 2008 Prestiges with Edge-Zero

I guess not enough people have these to know if they're good yet or not. But maybe it's just they have to see if they can stand the test of time? I'd really like to know since I'm looking at getting the 2008 J-Custom Z.
