I haven't seen any pics yet but I imagine his 2 new guitars might be 6-string versions of what he already plays. I wouldn't expect a Broderick sig, either 6 or 7 string, until at least 2010, assuming he stays with Ibanez, because they haven't even released any official recordings with Chris yet (not counting that HDNet concert recently).
Any reason why they would ask him to stop playing 7s?

Oops, it seems Dave wasn't the one who asked him.
In
this thread
(you have to be a member to access it) a member asked:
I know that Chris uses a custom 7 string when he plays, but does anybody know if he actually uses the lowest string for megadeth songs?
To which Dave responded:
no. and Andy Sneap and James had a talk with him about how you can't really dig in on the down-picking on the E-string with a 7 string guitar; that we don't have any 7 string stuff; and Chris being the pro that he is, went right out and had his guitar company make him two 6 strings. i think that the guitar company that snags him is going to be lucky.

Hmmm, interesting. Thanks for the prompt response!
I remember a picture posted of his 7-string, I would be interested in one of those!

Re: 2009 ibanez line-up speculation
The AT100 looks like a really nice guitar. It seems to cover many different styles.
It appears to be Ibanez version of the Strat. I never seen one in person and not a huge fan of the Strat thick necks (although the EJ wasn't too bad though). Is the neck on the AT100 like a base ball bat?
I have an RG550 Reissue and really like the neck a lot. I'm not estatic about the fluorescent like color, but the playability is awesome.

Re: 2009 ibanez line-up speculation
From what I'm told the 550RI and 770RI were Super Wizard, so I have to assume it's the Wizard with the titanium stabilizing rods.
There's some very cool stuff coming, including,
nah, more bits later
