That sounds cool, I just wish they would get rid of the fake f holes or make them real.

Hope for something fresh/new, interesting.

This time of year is always fun, wondering what cool Ibanez may be arriving on the scene.

It sucks when kids always want black guitars... they will regret it so much in a few years' time!

Personally, I'd like to see more natural and trans finishes on guitars. Swirls and neons are cool but sometimes I think people are too fixated on them without considering the UNDENIABLE FACT that very few modern guitar players want a guitar in a lurid flourescent colour or combination of colours.

----Untill trends change, and they always do. -----

The more guitarists out there who have the balls to stand up on stage with something other then black, brown, or wood color, will push the giant wheel of trends back around. Music trends, and clothes go round and round. So will guitar styles.

But there are tons of natural finished super strats, which are beautiful but just a tad too common. I don't want to have to explain why my natural finished maple topped guitar is different from that other company's natural finished maple topped guitar. I want them to know; right when I pull out that LNG leviathian of a guitar, that it's an Ibanez RG and not a Jackson or an ESP. Nothings wrong with those companies I like some of their gutiars a lot but, I chose Ibanez, a Grape Ice Ibanez. I don't know about you, but how many Grape Ice or equivalently colored super strats have you seen? There is my point.

And it is an UNDENIABLE FACT that most modern guitar players (bar very few) are following trends. It's time to set trends. How can something become classic and not stay "80s" or "90s" or associated with whatever decade it is when no one will ever let a change happen? It is an undeniable fact that Surf Green and Daphne Blue were "50s" colors but now they are classic. Why? Because those instruments and their image were quality and outlasted a decade. I feel Ibanez could do this, and still not have to abandon placating the masses of people who want to look, "evil and badass" with their "Ghost translucent black" guitar or their shockingly unique "natural finished flame maple topped" guitar.

Re: ***** 2009 line-up leakage *****

You're both missing the point. Swirls and **** have their place, but even in their heyday, Ibanez weren't exactly the only kid on the block when it came to shred guitars.

Ibanez are a company. Its great that they have this image to a lot of people but at the end of the day if they make 6,000,000 absolutely beautiful guitars that nobody wants except a small proportion of people who post on jemsite, they're going out of business.

And as for 'trends change', thats another point to be made. Swirls were a trend. Dayglo guitars were a trend. Lucite guitars were a trend. Why should we go back to a trend that 99% of guitarists agree was lurid and horrible in almost every sense? I like swirls, but fact is, that 99% of the market that isn't like me or you, DOESN'T.

I'd much rather see Ibanez produce some fantastic guitars with quilt maple tops in trans colours, that play fantastic. Sure, I have to 'explain why this guitar is better than that guitar' a little more, but frankly, if a guitar looks good, it looks good to most people. Most people don't care if its instantly recognizable as an ibanez or even a gibson. If it looks well made, then they just think 'Wow that guitar looks cool'

The only people on earth who are really going to care about this 'uniquely ibanez finish' you have on your guitar, that 'sets it apart from everything else' are guitar geeks. The rest of the world will just decide if it looks good or bad to them, then they'll move on and worry about something more important.

Re: ***** 2009 line-up leakage *****

wow 99% of all guitarists,, did you interview every guitarist on the planet ?

Understated guitars are the safe way to play live. it makes sure the audience doesn't expect amazing guitar solos.... boooooooooo

:P

And how do you know that if the guitar manufacturers gave more colors in their line up that maybe the masses would buy them....
