2009 ibanez line-up speculation

Hey!

6 weeks from Xmas time. It's probably time to discuss what kind of new Ibanez will be available for our shopping carts in January!

So, who has information on what is going on in Fujigen?

I personnally think, given the amount of new models in 2008, that 2009 should be pretty calm.

We didn't get any cool Limited Edition non-sig guitars that I'm aware of this past year so hopefully 2009 will fill the void.

Any teasers Rich that you CAN spill?

I read that Gilbert has a couple new ones coming out which is all I've heard so far.

Yep. I got it from Gilbert's tech that the SSS Iceman will be released in 2009. I think the sunburst PGM with the chrome covered humbuckers will too.

I'd be interested in the sunburst. I've wanted a PGM for years and the sunburst is the one that lights my fire far more than any other one I've seen thus far.

I hope the JS1600 will stay on catalog, maybe with another finish ?
Rich have you got info about that ?
Usually, they discontinue signature models after just one year...

I must get one !

A french retailer told me MIK wil move back to Japan or to China... Maybe there won't be any MIK anymore ?

I think there might be a new JEM, and lots and lots of new Prestige guitars !

I prefer the Sunburst PGM over the Fireman, and I know that the chrome covered pickups are there for the vintage feel but I'd want to swap them out

Re: ***** 2009 line-up leakage *****

namm 2008 iirc released alot of mediocre models, with the exception of the 24 fret Prestige S etc..

im really hoping for a new colour for the jem, thats in alder that will possibly replace the 77v or better still be a new color alongside the existing ones...

chances are pretty slim though...

Maple.

An obnoxious color.

A PG that will absolutely piss everybody off, while others will ease the pain.

No doubt most will just complain about the new stuff anyway
