20th Anny 550 Write Up - Guitar World

Guitar World graciously provided 119 words to describe the 20th Anny 550 in the up-coming Guitar World on page 204.

This is the second "write-up" of it's kind that I've seen. It's like, they're trying to acknowledge the fact that these guitars are special, but down played enough so that it only gets a paragraph instead of a Gear Review feature that it deserves.

I guess Ibanez doesn't line this publications pockets well enough like the other guitar manufacturers do.

guitar world is utter trash. 119 words for the reissue 550, but a 9 page infomercial disguised as an 'interview' for van halen. even with vai and satch on the cover, i'll never by that rag again.

That is exactly how it works. Not one article gets written unless they get paid to do it. This is not journalism, it's advertising. It's garbage and they should be paying us to read it.

in which month??? i have until september and only the Xiphos got a review... just wondering... but if it is like that it should get a good review like some other gear...

I'm just playing devils advocate here but isnt there only so much you can say about a guitar with a different paint job?They must have reviewed an RG a million times...

You mean a prestige RG with an original wizard neck and edge bridge? Improved stability and satin finish neck?

Who cares what GW or GP say, only idiots and kids read that crap anyway (although I was tempted by the SWTA issue.)

It's worthless to them because it is a limited model that is already sold out, and no advertising revue is available to promote it. We are lucky they mentioned it at all. Plus all the Emo idiots and progressive rock wimps are scared of metal axes. They might cry and cancel their subsciptions...
