Ok gonna bring back this old post . Thanks to Ibanez Rules' catalog pages, I found the specs, now..

I have what I 'believe' to be a this particular bass model. 'Believe' , because the problem is that there's no J-Custom sign and no model number anywhere on the bass. This bass has the '3D' body style like the SR5000 series, Bartolinis, and the looks sure does match the catalog pictures, and AFAIK there's no other SR bass that looks like this.
I realize that maybe if I take off the neck and look at the neck pocket there's a chance that the model number is there, but I really want to avoid doing that .
Anyone knows how to confirm or tell me for sure that this bass is in fact the bass I think it is ?
Thank you.

Mmmm...yummy bass! I haven't seen any J-Customs that haven't had the "J-Custom" logo on the heastock, but then I haven't actually seen one of those basses in person. Popping the neck off would really be your best bet as far as finding out exactly what it is. It should be pretty painless to do

Oh well I guess I'll try to take the neck off the next time I change the strings.
The neck has the same spec as SR5000 and I'm guessing the necks on the 8100's are SR5000 necks.
