A question on cleaning a JC neck & board

Hi all,
Just wondering what everyone else does about cleaning the neck & fingerboard on their JCustoms.
I have a 8620s - and I play it - and want to give it a clean but don't want to upset the inlays or the wood.
Are there specific products I should use?
Are any better than the others?

I did a bit of a search on other threads but didn't find anything specific (which doesn't necessarily mean it isn't there).

Thanks,

I assume it's a rosewood board? If so, this should help you a lot. http://www.ibanezrules.com/tech/grunge/grunge_3.htm

Cool thanks for that.
Yes - my neck is rosewood with the vine inlay (should have mentioned that).
I'm a bit concerned about using steel wool on the neck though... anyone else tried this on a vine neck?

I personally would not use steel wool on a vine neck (mother of pearl inlays?). I dunno, it may scratch the inlays imho. I always cleaned my necks (esp maple) with zippo fluid though please check this out before attempting it mate.

Re: A question on cleaning a JC neck & board

I just used Rich's method from ibanezrules on my S470QS WizardII and it worked great. I used lemon oil to dress the rosewood and it came out a nice dark brown. I dont think the 0000 steel wool harmed my mother of pearl inlay on the 12th fret at all. May want to contact Rich for his opinion. He may even post on this thread.
