A RGT3120-like guitar with Wizard II neck

Hello, I'm looking for a guitar which I can mod-up to sound like an RGT3120. I love this guitar except the fact that the neck is too big for me and causing wrist problems. I want a Wizard II neck-thru (not glued on or similar problematic one) with these gorgeous steel frets that don't wear away. Same wood as RGT3120. I'm also after the sustain of this guitar. I can modify the pickups and install lo-pro edge.

1. Any suggestions?

I hear that RGT42FX is good but only DX is available on ebay at the moment.

2. Someone told me that a guitar built outside of japan is rubbish, compared to the same one that is made in Japan. is this true?

3. Is there any downside in swapping an RGT3120 simply because the neck is uncomfortable?

You must have an RGT 3120 with the "ultra" neck. I passed up a nice used RGT a while back when I read that it had this ultra neck. I've also been spoiled by the wizard, Jem, and PGM necks, and do not want anything thicker! I sold my mint jackson USA soloist for the same reason - my tendons hurt after playing it.

The thing you have to understand about neck-thru guitars is that they amass their tone and sustain from their neck wood and girth. Now by that logic, the greater the size of the neck, the better and stronger the tone will be. The less there is, the tone will be more transparent if you will. So they made the ultra neck a bit thicker than say a Wizard neck because of the need to have a balance between a thin neck and a good tone.

I'm looking for neck-thru. Also the rg3120 is too warm and dark sounding for me. So the wizard II neck-thru options sounds great
