Any thoughts on this Jem?

Been looking at this for a while and have PM'd the guy and he's willing to sell and post for 540euro. What do we think? Should I go for this?

Well as he said it isn't the original body, and it is basswood not alder with basswood laminates like the original body it had. I kinda like the sorta VSBL color he painted the body but the gold doesn't really go with it. Also it has zero monkey grip and zero lions claw tremolo claw.

I think it is up to you, that is a pretty good price so I would say go for it, but I would probably end up selling that body and getting a real Jem replacement from someone, which would still make it less money than a normal Jem. But see what others say after me before you make a decision.

Also many might say that Evo's sound bad in basswood but I disagree, it might be the cut of basswood my rg has though.

In France the parts alone are well worth 500 euros. At least close to 300-400 for a mint vwh neck, if you can find one, 160 for the set of Evos, 150 for the trem ... So i'd say go for it. There's a chance you like the guitar the way it is, and if not you have a very good base to order your own custom body, built/decorated to your likings (check out some of the builders in the banners) and get a very nice guitar for a good price

yeah about those pictures, I was thinking that. But Ireland is so small it just wouldnt make any sense! If you come across the advert can you let me know? I'm gonna go look for it agian and see if its the same details and dude!

sounds like a scam to me.or either hes had the guitar repaired and posted pics before his wife smashed it.nah id pass if i were you.

Have you read any of this thread? It is not the original body. And in the thread I posted he said the neck was undamaged during the "incident".

No offense dude, but in the thread he states that it was a Jem 7vwh that was broke by his wife. Then at the end of the thread he shows how he got an RG body that was blue and put the unharmed neck onto it. Pictures or no pictures the fact that it was a Jem and now is an RG seems to explain why it looks like it does. At the end of the thread I posted you can see the pictures of the new RG with the Jem neck. The seller did not indicate that his wife destroyed the RG with the Jem neck. Though maybe she did destroy the second body too. Maybe the neck is cursed. Regardless, if you read the posts in both threads, it appears that:
1) a Jem body was destroyed.
2)the neck was not destroyed.
3)the neck was put on an RG body.
4)This RG body with Jem neck is now for sale.
5) His wife hates guitars.
