Any tips for lubricating your nut? (An RGA guitar nut that is)

If you're unfortunate enough ask fellow jemsiters advice on what you can use to lubricate your nut or nuts (if you have more than one to lubricate) - you've definitely hit rock bottom however . .

I read a while back about different things you can use, but I can not find the thread anymore? I thought it was GraphTech nut lube, but I could not find it on their web site.

Any thoughts?

P.S. I already hijacked my own thread so you don't have to elcid

Next time you change your strings just run a pencil through the slots a little, this helped on my RGA121 which has a sticky nut.

Check for lumps too

Depends on if it is one-handed or two or three.........

Few things worse than an over-lubricated nut!

The pencil lead is the lube I've always read about people using and possibly smoothing it with fine sand paper.

I seriously needed help because it will not stay in tune - I thought there was really something that someone said they swore by.

I shouldn't have asked (shakes head) I shouldn't have asked (shakes head again)

Everything sounds bad in this thread

It's hopeless

The nuts just seem to be cut small. widen it a little and see how that works for ya.

Graphite should work and if not, try to widen it with sand paper (just take your time so it is as smooth as a shorn scrotem
