Bridge question?
I own a ESP MII and it has orginal
floyd rose
on it and GHS strings and Iam noticing that its holds tune better than my RG2550 with
Edge Pro bridge
and D'addarrio strings.Could it possibly be the strings?I know from talking to many techs they say GHS or Ernie ball are great for a floyd system.Opinions welcomed!

Re: Bridge question?
I would think the culprit would be something else. Once the strings are properly stretched if the bridge and
locking nut
are doing their job, there should be no problem. I would look at the bridge and nut first before blaming the strings. Just my two cents.

Thanks for reply!I did stretch them and everything looks fine. It's not badly out of tune just a touch flat, honestly with the floyd and ghs strings that thing never moved the only time i would re-tune is when I was doing string changes.I guess floyd is just better??

Re: Bridge question?
Perhaps the problem is caused by the non-
locking studs
the EP is equipped with? More info about the issue is detailed
here
.

Re: Bridge question?
Make sure the bridge is level with the body. If it is pulling forward or back it wont return in tune.

Re: Bridge question?
And lube the studs using lipbalm/chapstick, surprisingly it'll improve the return back to pitch.

I'm not too sure if that's a major difference between the EP and the OFR since the OFR studs aren't locking studs either.

I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for pointing it out.

Nope, i use a
petroleum jelly based odorless lipbalm
, got it from my sis who bought it frm the US, works wonderful. You could probably find a chapstick in Ampang, probably in Great Eastern Mall, but the closest of our product to the chapstick is the LipIce, lol, its not good coz its water based and smells funny
