Choice between two J-Custom guitars

uhh... I have a choice between two used-almost-mint-condition J-Custom guitars (they both cost pretty much the same) - the 8270 (Black Onyx finish) and the 8670 (the blue one)

which one's the better choice?

I personally would prefer the blue one, but it's your choice.

Re: Choice between two J-Custom guitars

there isn't much of a sound difference is there? The 8270 has a nice finish, but the 8670 does have an ebony fingerboard...

Get the 8670, then if you don't like the colour, find someone to swirl it

I would add that the 8670 has a 17/19mm neck thickness while the 8270 is 18/20mm.

The 8670 comes with a matching flamed maple headstock while the 8270 does not.

Here is my RG8520TB. The blue finish is actually sunbursted, which they don't tell you.

Re: Choice between two J-Custom guitars

Th 8270 has a striped ebony headstock, no neck binding, rosewood as opposed to ebony fretboard, and the old style tree of life inlay. They are both excellent guitars, the RG8270 is somewhat rarer as they only made them for a couple of months. To choose I'd go by the colour or which one has the best figured top !!

Re: Choice between two J-Custom guitars

thanks for the comments guys!

anyways... it's agreed that most people prefer the 8670?

EDIT: wait.... the 8270 stayed in production for only two months?
I thought that the 2008 model is pretty much the same....?

Re: Choice between two J-Custom guitars

I'd get the RG8670. I bought a RG8270 once and sold it pretty much within the same week as I felt it wasn't up to par with my RG8670's.

Late to the party, but I'd go 8670 as well.

The RG8270 is pretty unique, the RG8670 is more like the RG8470. As I said there is little to choose between them if you want a matching headstock, neck binding and ebony board go for the 8670. I have an RG8270 and RG8470 and couldn't choose between them. But then I don't like ebony fretboards that much !!
